As requested, the following entry has been included in the safety signs site.
To encourage safety sign buyers to promote health and safety by proper labeling of
safety storage and signage for work areas in general, Safety signs catalogues providing
the following signs and labels that can easily be downloaded from this webpage.
Safety Signs Catalogue also encourages any business or department that has created
their own signs and labels, and are interested in sharing their creations with the UK
market, to submit their signs and label designs to Safety Signs Catalogue to be posted
on this webpage.
The requirements for safety signs are covered in depth by the Health and Safety at Work
Act 1974 and the Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996.
In accordance with their guidlines, safety sign designs fall into of six categories:
Prohibition
Black symbol on a white background inside a red circle with a red diagonal line across
the circle.
Warning
Black symbol on a yellow background inside a black triangle.
Mandatory
White symbol on a blue circular background.
Emergency escapes
White symbol on a green square or rectangular background.
Fire-fighting
White symbol on a red rectangular or square background.
Obstacles or dangerous locations
Alternating yellow and black stripes.
